I'm a Minolta fan!

Nikon Coolpix E900 digital camera

Nikon Coolpix E900 (1.3 Mega pixels)

My first digital camera. Fun watching photos on PCs, but I didn't like the picture quality. The tilting lens was convenient taking low angle pictures. Takes 4 AA batteries. The batteries didn't last long enough for serious shooting.

Nikon coolpix E880 digital camera

Nikon Coolpix E880 (3.34 mega pixels)

Better pictures compared to E900. Great close-ups and sharp pictures. Personally, color wasn't vivid as I wanted it to be. The 2.5x zoom range was bit too short. Improved battery operation time. Takes both dedicated rechargeable batteries and Lithium 2CR5s.
(Matsumoto Denki in Saitama, 54,800 yen)

Minolta Dimage 7i digital camera

Minolta Dimage 7i (5 mega pixels)

Very Minolta-like color. Very sharp pictures and 7x zoom range. AF wasn't fast enough to shoot trains, but flexible focal point AF was convenient. Macro feature wasn't as good as I expected. It doesn't work full zoom range. Maximum aperture was F9.5. Tales 4 AA batteries.

Minolta Dimage xi digital camera

Minolta Dimage Xi (3 mega pixels)

Very slim body with optical 3x zoom. This was my first Dimage X series purchase. Takes dedicated NP-200 batteries. Very easy to handle. No expert features. Just point and shoot.

Konica Minolta maxxum 7D digital SLR camera

Konica Minolta Alpha 7 Digital (6.1 mega pixels)

First DSLR by Konica-Minolta (excluding RD-175). I was shocked with its great color reproduction. Great anti-shake feature. Gets underexposed very easily when shooting white objects. Exposure Compensation in a must when shooting white objects. Pretty heavy, but my most favorite.

2006 Minolta Dimage xt digital camera

Minolta Dimage Xt (3 mega pixels)

Very similar to Xi, but with smaller body and better features. It can be used as a webcam. Cradle style battery charger is nice too. Built in optical 3x zoom. Takes dedicated NP-200 batteries.
(Bic Camera + Yahoo! Auctions, total 3,880 yen)

2006 Konica Minolta maxxum 5D digital SLR camera

Konica Minolta Alpha Sweet Digital (6.1 mega pixels)

Light and very easy to use. Great Anti-shake feature. Actually, many features are better than 7D. It has better exposure control, especially when shooting white objects.
(Bic Camera in Tokyo, 69,800 yen)

2006 Minolta dimage x20 digital camera

Konica Minolta Dimage X20 (2 mega pixels)

I bought it used at a camera shop. It has optical 3x zoom just like other x series. A little mirror next to the lens is used to shoot self-portraits. LED at the grip flashes in rainbow colors. Very strange... Takes two AA batteries.
(Bic Camera in Tokyo, 1,050 yen)

2006 Minolta Dimage xt digital camera

Minolta Dimage Xt (3 mega pixels)

My second Xt digital camera. Since CCD was defective, I got it cheap.. The defect was covered by manufacturer's warranty; a very good deal. Get CCD defective cameras cheap, and get it repaired. for free.
(Bic Camera in Tokyo, 2,100 yen)

2006 Minolta Dimage x digital camera

Minolta Dimage X (2 mega pixels)

First Dimage X series model. Very similar to Xi, but with 2 mega CCD. Takes NP-200 battery cells. No plans on using it; just for my collection.
(Bic Camera in Tokyo, 1,050 yen)

2007 Olympus Camedia X-200 digital camera

Olympus CAMEDIA X-200 (3.2 mega pixels)

I bought this camera to do some experiment on data recovery for xd picture cards. It takes two AA batteries, which is nice in case of emergency.
(Bic Camera in Tokyo, 1,050 yen)

2008 Sony dslr-a300 digital SLR camera

Sony Alpha 300 (10.2 mega pixels)

It is a A350 model with a200 image sensor. When I compared with A350, it seems that A300 produces lesser grainy pictures in high-ISO settings. I prefer lesser noise than higher resolution. 14 meg. camera images also take up too much space on my harddrive.
